Pembroke Pines Community Playground
A residential community in Pembroke Pines needed a playground in place quickly while working through a tricky approval situation with the city.
We delivered the equipment three days after the order was placed, so the project stayed on schedule rather than waiting on a long lead time. The finished space pairs a play system and climber with engineered wood fiber surfacing, set into the landscaping between the homes.
The community wanted a play area that felt like a designed part of the landscape rather than equipment dropped onto a lawn.
The answer was a circular plan. A ring of engineered wood fiber sits inside a poured concrete border, which keeps the surfacing contained, gives a clean edge to mow up to, and doubles as the path around the play area. Benches and a waste receptacle sit on widened sections of that ring, so parents have somewhere to sit within sight of everything.
Inside the circle the equipment is split into two age-appropriate zones: a play system with a deck, slide and transfer steps on one side, and a climbing structure with a net panel, overhead rings and monkey bars on the other. Moulded stepping pods scatter across the middle to link the two.
The whole area is enclosed by black aluminium fencing and finished with planting beds and palms, with playground rules signage at the entrance.
